1. Who we are
Frenamies (the “app”) and this website are provided by the company below, which is the controller of your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean this company.
MARKIT S.R.L.
Fdt. Coacăzelor nr. 14C, Breaza, Prahova, Romania
Trade register no. J2024042186003 · Tax ID 50900467 (CUI)
Email: support@aibrainl.ink
2. What we collect and why
2.1 Data that stays on your phone
The names you type in for players, your settings (intensity level, non-drinker mode, sound, haptics, usage-statistics choice), your age confirmation and your game history are stored only in the app’s private storage on your device. We do not receive them. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
2.2 Anonymous usage statistics
To understand which modes and cards people enjoy and where the app can be better, the app sends usage events to our analytics provider, PostHog. Events are linked to a random identifier created by the app on first launch. It is not linked to your name, Google account, phone number or advertising ID.
The events record things like: the app being opened or closed; the mode, intensity level and number of players when a game starts; which card was shown (by card ID); intensity changes; opening the subscription screen, choosing a plan, starting a trial and restoring purchases; turning non-drinker mode on or off; and minigame timers. Player names are never included. PostHog also receives basic technical information: device model, operating system and version, app version, screen size and language. It uses your IP address to estimate your country and city, and our analytics project is set up to discard IP addresses instead of storing them.
You can stop usage statistics at any time in Settings › Share usage statistics.
2.3 Crash reports
If the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a crash report to our error-monitoring provider, Sentry, so we can fix the problem. A report contains the technical details of the error, the steps the app took just before it (for example, which screen was open), the device model, operating system, app version and a random installation identifier. Crash reports do not contain player names, and the app is configured not to send personal data such as IP addresses or user identities.
2.4 Subscriptions and purchases
Frenamies Pro is sold through Google Play. Google processes your payment as an independent controller under the Google Privacy Policy. We never receive your card details or your Google account’s email address.
To unlock Pro features and check that a subscription is valid, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID created for this purpose, the purchase token from Google Play, the product you bought, the price and currency, the store country, and the dates and status of your trial, subscription, renewals, cancellations and refunds.
2.5 When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use them to answer you.
2.6 This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or social-media trackers, and its fonts are served from our own server. Like any web server, our hosting provider automatically processes technical request data (IP address, browser type, requested page and time) to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. These logs are kept for a short period by the hosting provider.
3. What we don’t collect
- No account details: no name, email address, phone number, date of birth or password.
- No precise location, contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera access.
- No advertising ID and no ads. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
4. Legal bases
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Providing your subscription and checking that it is valid | Purchase and subscription records, app user ID | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Finding and fixing crashes | Crash reports | Our legitimate interest in a working, secure app (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Improving the game | Anonymous usage statistics | Our legitimate interest in understanding how the app is used (Art. 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time by turning usage statistics off in Settings |
| Answering your messages | Your email and message | Our legitimate interest in providing support (Art. 6(1)(f)), or a contract where your message concerns your subscription |
| Keeping records required by law | Transaction records | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
5. Who processes your data
We use the service providers below. They process data on our behalf under data processing agreements and may use it only to provide their service to us.
| Provider | What they do | Where data is stored |
|---|---|---|
| PostHog Inc. | Anonymous usage statistics | European Union |
| Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) | Crash reports | European Union |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Subscription status and purchase validation | United States |
| Our website hosting provider | Serving this website | Depends on the provider’s network |
Google (Google Play) handles payments and app distribution as an independent controller. We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
6. International transfers
Some providers are based in, or may access data from, countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and, where the provider is certified, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
7. How long we keep data
- On your phone: until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Usage statistics: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Crash reports: up to 90 days.
- Subscription records: while your subscription is active and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Support emails: up to 24 months after your request is resolved.
8. Your rights and choices
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time.
- Turn off usage statistics: Settings › Share usage statistics.
- Delete data on your phone: uninstall the app, or clear its storage in your phone’s settings.
- Any other request: email support@aibrainl.ink. We reply within one month.
Because the app does not ask who you are, the data we hold is not linked to your name or email. We may therefore be unable to find data about you unless you give us details that let us identify it, such as your Google Play order number for a subscription question.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Romania this is the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro). You can also contact the authority in the EU country where you live or work. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
9. Adults only
Frenamies is intended only for adults aged 18 and over who are of legal drinking age where they live. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the app and data about them reached us, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
Data sent by the app is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to our provider accounts is limited to people who need it and protected with strong authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the data we handle and to collect as little as possible in the first place.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or the law changes. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or on this website before they take effect.
12. Contact us
